Man claiming he won HK$193m LNY Mark Six jackpot pesters staff before police intervene – Hong Kong Standard

Police had to intervene when a man who mistakenly thought he had won the Lunar New Year Mark Six draw pestered Hong Kong Jockey Club staff and refused to leave the premises.
The man surnamed Hung, 29, claimed to be the winner of the largest-ever HK$193 million jackpot and went to the HKJC headquarters in Happy Valley twice Tuesday morning with his lottery ticket to claim the prize money.
Hung first arrived at the Jockey Club at 11.56am and refused to leave after staff verified the ticket and confirmed that he was not the winner. Still, Hung kept pestering the staff, who eventually had to call in the police.
Hung left the premises but returned repeatedly claiming that he had won the jackpot and causing a disturbance in the lobby.
Police later arrived at the scene who convinced Hung to leave, and classified the case as a misunderstanding.
Results of this year’s Lunar New Year Mark Six draw were announced Sunday (Feb 2), with the HK$193 million claimed by a single-ticket winner.
