CLARK SUMMIT, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A yearly tradition for many, the Puppy Bowl airs before the Super Bowl and highlights two teams of adoptable dogs facing off for the Lombarky Trophy.
During the game, many dogs and shelters are featured stressing the importance of adopting animals.
Locally, the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter in Clarks Summit may have some MVPs of its own just waiting to be adopted.
“You’re helping your community at the end of the day. Those animals came from your community. At Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, we don’t pull animals from the south. We’re rescuing animals right here in our community,” said Sherry Crolly developmental director for the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
The shelter has a variety of dogs and cats, both purebred and mixed spanning a wide range of ages.
Those at the shelter encourage any potential adopters to do their research before putting in an application and to find an animal suited to their family’s lifestyle.
