New, avant-garde, French black metal project, Paths to Deliverance, have announced the coming of their debut album. Titled simply Ten, it is due out March 28th, via Malpermesita Records, and features Kevin Paradis (ex Benighted) on drums. Keep reading to find out more.
Originally conceived as a solo project by A.S.A (Azziard, Alkhemia, ex-The Negation, Redsphere), Paths to Deliverance has now evolved into a full band with the arrival of other talented and experienced musicians from Alkhemia, Azziard, Nydvind, and Cave Growl. Paths to Deliverance will captivate fans of Der Weg einer Freiheit, Deathspell Omega, Harakiri for the Sky, Marduk, and Gaerea. Without imposing any musical barriers, Paths to Deliverance merges violence, melancholy, horror, and melody into a deeply personal take on black metal.
Ten is both a sonic and conceptual exploration rooted in themes of horror and mysticism. Alternating between aggression and haunting melodies, the album captures the duality of human fears and aspirations, drawing inspiration from the works of horror masters like Edgar Allan Poe, Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, as well as Carl Jung‘s psychological theories and the Tibetan Bardo.
