Law enforcement requesting help in search for Lummi Nation elder – Cascadia Daily News

A Lummi Nation elder has been missing since Jan. 21, and law enforcement is asking for the public’s help in finding her.
Besalynn James was last seen near her home on Balch Road in Lummi Nation, according to Lummi Communications.
The Lummi Nation Police Department, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are assisting in the search for the 62-year-old.
Law enforcement is recommending people avoid the Balch Road search radius that is under investigation, according to Lummi Communications. Search efforts were postponed on Wednesday, Jan. 29, until further notice.
Anyone who has seen James or related suspicious activity is requested to call 911. People can also call the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office at 360-778-6663.
James has black hair, brown eyes and is approximately 5-foot-1 and 160 pounds. She has a scar on her right arm and the letters “BES” tattooed on her arm.
