To get things underway, let me take some time to explain how the virtual tokens work at RealPrize. Like many sweepstakes casinos, you can play with two virtual tokens here: Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins.
Gold Coins are the play-for-fun virtual currency that allows you to play on all casino-style games with entertainment as the sole focus. You can win, release, and purchase more Gold Coins; however, you can never convert RealPrize Gold coins into Sweeps Coins or redeem them.
Sweeps Coins are aimed at promotional play. All bonus SC released can be used to play on all promotional casino-style games here. Any additional SC won through gameplay must then be played through once before it is considered redeemable. A minimum of 45 eligible SC must be available to redeem for gift vouchers and 100 eligible SC for cash prizes.
As established in our latest RealPrize casino review, you’ll be able to pick up virtual tokens at every turn. This is a legal requirement of all sweepstakes casinos, so let us now highlight a few key promos that you can enjoy in December.
Due to the very nature of RealPrize, we guess that this first new customer offer could be considered a great way to unlock free spins from RealPrize casino. However, the truth is that all free-to-release promos could be considered “free spins” here. Regardless of how you view things, the new customer offer promises to add 100,000 GC and 2 free SC to your virtual balance. All you need to do is click on the links within this guide, verify your account, and begin playing.
Rest assured that the ongoing perks and promotions from RealPrize do not end at the sign-up stage. In fact, we found plenty of fantastic offers that can add a number of free Sweeps Coins to your balance.

Now you know the ins and outs of releasing Sweeps Coins at Real Prize, it is time to talk you through the process of redeeming them.
To start, it is worth bearing in mind that only SC won through gameplay have the potential to be exchanged for gift vouchers or cash prizes. You can use your bonus SC to play in promotional mode, then any winnings will need to be played through at least once. A minimum of 45 eligible SC must be acquired to redeem for gift vouchers and 100 eligible SC for cash prizes.
Redeeming your prizes will require you to pass verification checks, too. Once completed, you can click to ‘redeem’, select your chosen method, the number of eligible SC, and submit your request.
RealPrize free SC can be unlocked throughout your time online, allowing you to make the most of the promotional experience. With over 300 casino-style games available, we can’t see you getting bored easily. Plus, new releases are never too far away.
Just remember that your bonus SC cannot be redeemed directly. Instead, you’ll need to play through your winnings and meet minimum requirements before selecting to redeem for gift vouchers or cash prizes. Don’t disregard a Gold Coin package purchase, either – you could find free SC released as a complimentary bonus.
Not directly. Any free SC that has been released as part of a promotion is more of a “gateway” to promotional play. Once here, you can use your bonus SC and win additional SC through gameplay. Any SC that has been won can then be played through and later redeemed.
No. Again, you can’t directly do this. However, you will find a number of Gold Coin package purchases that will release free RealPrize SC as part of a complimentary bonus.
You cannot redeem free SC for prizes from the off. All SC must be won through gameplay, played through, and meet the minimum prize redemption limits. Currently, this is 45 eligible SC for gift vouchers and 100 SC for cash prizes.

Pastor tackles man who fired gun during Sunday services at Suffolk church – News 3 WTKR Norfolk

Menu
SUFFOLK, Va. — A church leader in Suffolk says he tackled a man who fired a gun inside his church. That man is in now in custody following the incident at The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation Holiness Sunday afternoon, police said.
“Everything was going lovely,” said Chief Apostle Brian E. Outlaw, Sr. D.D. of the Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation Holiness. “Next thing I know the young man walked into the pulpit and had a gun out.”
Outlaw jumped in.
“I went into active mode and grabbed the gun and wrestled the gun from him to make sure it wouldn’t go off in the congregation but it went off in the pulpit,” said Outlaw.
It was a scary moment for churchgoers, who’d been listening to some of the New Testament.
“When we pulled [the service] up on the Facebook [livestream] from home, my wife — she heard the shots — she said something happened at the church, so I jumped up and came running out here,” said Raymond Giles who had children and grandchildren inside the church.
“We came pulling down here, and saw squad cars and we realized it was the church outside the house,” said neighbors Angie and Larry Owen. “There are a lot of people in that church, you know, on a Sunday. So it’s pretty crowded. It stays crowded.”
As everyone made sure loved ones were okay, they told us what they saw happen.
A congregant who’d attended the church entered the building through a backdoor and sat in the crowd just after noon, bystanders said. Then, they said, he approached the podium with a gun. Police said the man had sought out a specific church staff member who was there.
“And when he pointed, the pastor jumped on him and put him to the ground,” said Giles.
Watch: Footage from scene of Suffolk church shooting
The gunfire didn’t hit anyone and the shooter was detained by people in the church until officers arrived, police say. We don’t know yet what started the ordeal.
Police took a man into custody in connection to the shooting.
Churchgoers gave thanks to God that no one was hurt.
“That’s the key right there. Everybody’s fine,” said Giles.
They finished the service and shared in a prayer.
Watch: Chief Apostle says to keep alleged church shooter in prayer
“Only thing I can say is we put the young man in prayer. Let’s keep the young man in prayer and let God intervene to give him strength. Whatever he’s going through, whatever he’s facing, asking God to give him strength. And strength in his family,” said Outlaw.
The shooting is under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

The reason why Jimmy Butler-Pat Riley Heat relationship began to fracture – Yardbarker

It has been a newsworthy Wednesday as the latest report from Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler prefers to be traded by the Feb. 6 trade deadline. While there has been a back and forth with some believing that the Heat trading Butler won’t happen, it seems that the relationship between the team and player has been fractured.
In response to the ESPN report, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald would not only talk about how Butler hasn’t formally requested a trade but talked about the relationship between the two parties. He would mention how Butler was “caught off guard” when Riley said the player should “keep your mouth shut” during his May end-of-season press conference about comments made about the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.
“A source said that Butler was caught off guard when Heat president Pat Riley, during a May news conference, scolded him,” Jackson wrote. “For saying that “Boston would be at home” and “New York damn sure would be [expletive] at home” if Butler had been healthy for Miami’s five-game first-round playoff loss against the Celtics, which he missed because of a knee injury.”
A video would show Butler being confident saying that if he was healthy for last season’s playoffs, the Heat would beat the Celtics and Knicks. He would have an MCL sprain that kept him out of the postseason which Miami lost in five games to Boston in the first round of the playoffs, but Riley was not a fan of the response.
For him to say that, I thought, ‘Is that Jimmy trolling, or is that Jimmy serious?’” Riley said. “If you’re not on the court playing against Boston or on the court playing against the New York Knicks, you should keep your mouth shut.”
Pat Riley on Jimmy Butler saying Boston would be home if he was playing:
“They are this year, the best team in the league…For him to say that, I thought is that Jimmy trolling or serious, if you’re not on the court playing, you should keep your mouth shut…” #HeatCulture pic.twitter.com/89SB0P7To0
— Zachary Weinberger (@ZachWeinberger) May 6, 2024
The Heat and Butler have been in trade speculation which was amplified when Charania reported that the team would be “open” to listening to offers with the star’s preferred destinations if he were to be dealt. However, Jackson would also report that Butler was “disappointed” that the team didn’t refute ESPN’s story.
“According to a source, Butler was also disappointed that the Heat did not publicly deny a Dec. 10 ESPN report that Miami was open to trading him,” Jackson wrote.
It remains to be seen what happens between the Heat and Butler as he’ll either be traded before the Feb. 6 deadline or will play out the rest of the season and opt out of his deal to enter free agency. What started the drama and speculation would probably be when Butler was seeking a contract extension this past offseason, but Riley would be non-committal during his end-of-season press conference.
“Well, you know, we don’t have to do that for a year and so we have not discussed that internally right now but we have to look at that and then make that kind of commitment,” Riley said. “Okay. And when do we do it? We don’t have to do it until 25 actually, but we’ll see. We haven’t made a decision on it. And we really haven’t really in earnest. discussed it. So we’ll see what happens.”
Pat Riley on if he will be giving Jimmy Butler a contract extension this summer.

Butler has missed the last two games with a “stomach illness” which he left in the first quarter of the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder last Friday as it looked originally like an ankle injury, but the team said he was “feeling ill.” Miami is 14-13 which puts them sixth in the Eastern Conference as they start a three-game road trip Thursday when they face the Orlando Magic.

Massena Central School District officials are moving forward with plans to present a capital project for voter approval in May, but how much the project will cost remains to be seen. Christopher Lenney/Watertown Daily Times
MASSENA — Massena Central School District officials are moving forward with plans to present a capital project for voter approval in May, but how much the project will cost remains to be seen.
Superintendent Ronald P. Burke told school board members the district’s maximum cost allowance for work at the high school, junior high and three elementary buildings was $86.9 million, with total maximum state aid of approximately $84.3 million.
“There are really two components of the maximum cost allowance. The first part is the actual construction costs. Those are our hard costs, and those are the things that are really related to the building itself — anything on the inside of the building, the exterior of the building, the roofs, the windows, the brick work, those types of things,” Burke said. “That is generally the bigger portion of any one of these maximum cost allowances.”
There are also incidental costs.
The incidental costs include the elements that are on the outside of the building — site work that we might have to put in, areas for contractors to park their trailers or to store their bins and their materials. It also includes things that would remain with the district, such as parking lots, sidewalks and athletic fields.
In addition, Burke said, there are soft costs, which are the engineering costs and the architectural fees.
He outlined the maximum cost allowance for each of the school buildings.
“These are based on building units, student units. So, it’s based on your census, your population over time,” he said.
The maximum cost allowance for Jefferson Elementary School is $10 million, which includes $8.4 million for construction and $1.7 million for incidental costs. At Madison Elementary School, the maximum cost allowance is $11.5 million, which includes $9.5 million for construction and $2 million for incidental costs. The maximum cost allowance at Nightengale Elementary School is $10 million for construction and $2.1 million for incidental costs, for a total of $12.2 million.
J.W. Leary Junior High School has a maximum cost allowance of $17.2 million, which includes $13.7 million for construction and $3.4 million for incidental costs. The high school’s maximum cost allowance is $45 million, which includes $36 million for construction and $9 million for incidental costs.
Burke said the high school will have the bulk of the work.
“What’s important to note on the high school is our construction maximum cost is $36 million. Since our issue with the pipeline about a year ago, I’ve talked with the board about the need to upgrade and replace our HVAC system here. The initial estimate to replace the HVAC system completely and include air conditioning throughout this building was just over $37 million. It ate up our entire construction cost. So, we’ve been going back to the drawing board. We’ve been working with our architect and our engineer. We had a meeting earlier today and we have some preliminary numbers of scaling that back, still getting the essential work done, making sure that we have a reliable heat system and air conditioning in some of the major areas,” he said.
Those major areas include the auditorium, cafeteria, media center and gymnasium.
“I want people to understand why we can’t just spend $50 million here at the high school on construction. If we go above the maximum cost amount, it’s no longer aidable, and we really want to make sure that we’re maximizing every aidable dollar from the state of New York and limiting the exposure to our local taxpayers,” Burke said.
He said the maximum cost allowance has a “five-year look back window.”
‘So, every five years it gets reset and the money doesn’t carry over,” he said. With our project, we plan on bringing the referendum to the voters in May at the annual budget vote. If approved, basically design work will take place throughout the course of much of the 2025-26 school year. We will submit then to SED (state Education Department) in the spring of ‘26. When we submit, that sets the look back window. So, you go five years back from the spring of ‘26 and that’s when they look at what you have already spent on your buildings. By the spring of ‘26 we have almost a complete reset throughout the district.”
The district receives 97.4% state aid for capital projects, but Burke said not every aspect of the project is aidable.
“Please don’t think that it means that every dollar we spend, we’re going to get 97 cents back. Not everything in even the best laid out project is going to be aidable. There will always be certain elements that we do in a capital project that are going to fully come back on he local taxpayer. So, we look at 97%. In my mind, I’m thinking I would be pleased if we can make that no less than 90%,” he said.
He said they working to bring the final number down that will be presented to voters.
“I certainly don’t want anyone to think that we’re looking at or the Facilities Committee is looking at spending every penny of our maximum cost. That’s not what we’re going to be doing. But, we are going to be looking at what are the necessities, what are the things that seven years from now we wish we had done and try to fix those things now while we have that money, especially at the elementary schools and the junior high even though they just came off some capital project work,” Burke said.
He said the plan is to present a project that will have no impact on the taxpayer, using some of the $15 million they have in the capital reserve to cover anything that’s not aidable.

I lived in Egypt for a year. Here’s how ancient wisdom improved my health – Journée Mondiale

Journee-Mondiale > Lifestyle
As the winter solstice passes and we approach the dawn of a new year, there’s no better time to reflect on the timeless wisdom of ancient civilizations. Living in Egypt for the past year has been an eye-opening journey into the depths of human understanding, particularly when it comes to health and wellness. The land of pharaohs and pyramids holds secrets that have stood the test of time, offering insights that are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. Let’s embark on a fascinating exploration of how ancient Egyptian wisdom can transform our modern approach to wellbeing.
Ancient Egyptians viewed health through a holistic lens, understanding that true wellness comes from harmony between physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life. This perspective aligns remarkably with modern integrative medicine. As Dr. Amira Hassan, an Egyptologist and health historian, explains, “The ancient Egyptians saw illness as an imbalance in the body’s energy system, not just a physical ailment. Their approach to healing was comprehensive, addressing the whole person rather than just treating symptoms.
This holistic viewpoint is evident in the spiritual and holistic health practices that were central to Egyptian medicine. They believed in the concept of ‘Ba’ and ‘Ka’ – two vital life forces similar to the Chinese idea of yin and yang. Balancing these energies was crucial for maintaining good health.
The Ebers Papyrus, one of the oldest medical texts in the world, details over 300 plant-based remedies for various ailments. This ancient Egyptian pharmacopeia is a treasure trove of herbal medicines and healing practices that continue to inspire modern herbalists and researchers. Garlic, for instance, was revered for its ability to boost vitality and ward off illness – a belief now supported by scientific studies on its antimicrobial and cardiovascular benefits.
To incorporate this wisdom into your daily life, consider these Egyptian-inspired herbal remedies:
In a striking parallel to modern psychosomatic medicine, ancient Egyptians believed the heart was the center of all thought, emotion, and nervous functions. This ancient medical knowledge and wellness approach emphasizes the profound connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health.
Dr. Fatima El-Sayed, a cardiologist specializing in mind-body medicine, notes, “The Egyptian understanding of the heart as the seat of consciousness is remarkably aligned with current research on the heart-brain connection. We now know that the heart has its own complex nervous system, often referred to as the ‘heart brain’.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Egyptian healing practices was their use of sound and vibration. The concept of using specific frequencies for healing aligns with modern sound therapy techniques. Imagine the soothing hum of a singing bowl, but with the added mystique of ancient Egyptian wisdom.
To experience this yourself, try this simple sound healing exercise:
Central to Egyptian philosophy was the concept of Maat, representing cosmic order, balance, and justice. This principle extended to health and wellness, emphasizing the importance of moderation and ethical living for overall wellbeing. It’s a reminder that true health isn’t just about diet and exercise, but also about how we conduct ourselves in the world.
Incorporating the wisdom of Maat into your life could look like:
The natural medicine and holistic approaches of ancient Egypt offer surprising solutions for contemporary health issues. For instance, the use of honey as an antibiotic and wound healing agent is now backed by modern science. Similarly, the practice of using specific foods and herbs to support organ function aligns with current nutritional therapy approaches.
Consider this anecdote: A colleague suffering from chronic digestive issues found relief after adopting an Egyptian-inspired diet rich in fennel, cumin, and other digestive herbs. It’s a testament to the enduring relevance of these ancient healing traditions.
Self-care wasn’t just a luxury in ancient Egypt; it was an integral part of daily life and spiritual practice. From elaborate bathing rituals to the use of natural oils and cosmetics, Egyptians understood the importance of caring for the body as a temple of the soul.
To channel this wisdom, try creating your own Egyptian-inspired self-care ritual:
Ancient Egyptians viewed life and health as cyclical, much like the ebb and flow of the Nile River. This perspective encouraged a more dynamic and adaptive approach to wellbeing. Rather than seeing health as a fixed state, they understood it as a continual process of balance and renewal.
This wisdom can be applied to modern life by:
Living in Egypt has shown me that the depth of ancient wisdom is not just a relic of the past, but a vibrant source of insight for our present and future wellbeing. By embracing a holistic approach to health, harnessing the power of natural remedies, and understanding the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, we can tap into a wellspring of timeless knowledge.
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, let’s take inspiration from these ancient practices. Whether it’s incorporating herbal remedies into your routine, practicing mindfulness to balance your emotions, or simply taking a moment for a nurturing self-care ritual, there are countless ways to bring the wisdom of ancient Egypt into your daily life. Remember, true health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of complete harmony and balance. In the words of an ancient Egyptian proverb, “The body is the house of god. That is why it is said, ‘Man know thyself’.” So, as we move forward, let’s carry this ancient wisdom with us, using it to light our path to better health and deeper understanding.
