Christopher Shapley, DVM, CVA, CVCH, CVFT, shares his favorite treatments for osteoarthritis pain in animal patients
In a pre-conference interview with dvm360 to talk about his about his Fetch Long Beach session, “Alternative Therapies for Managing Osteoarthritis Pain,” Christopher Shapley, DVM, CVA, CVCH, CVFT, shared his preferred therapies for managing osteoarthritis pain in animal patients. Shapley talked about therapies that pet owners are able to do at home, explaining that some clients may find it challenging to medicate their pet or bring their dog to an acupuncture appointment.
Below is the interview transcript. It has been lightly edited for clarity.
Christopher Shapley, DVM, CVA, CVCH, CVFT: So that's a tough one because I have a whole lot that I love. Of course, my wheelhouse and my go-to is always acupuncture and herbal therapies. I'm big on, you know, weight loss as a first step for managing osteoarthritis. But honestly, a lot of clients aren't always able to come in, or it's difficult, especially if they have a larger dog to, you know, to bring their pet in for regular acupuncture. If they have a cat that has osteoarthritis pain, well that makes it even more challenging for us. And some people just can't, you know, give medications to their pets or even herbs they find it difficult.
So, I tend to think about things that owners can do at home. So the targeted pulse electromagnetic field technology absolutely one of my favorites. It really targets pain, it targets inflammation, and it really, I've seen it help a lot with osteoarthritis cases. And again, it's something that they can do at home. I'm also a big fan of like doing like laser therapy at home too, like red light therapy is also very beneficial.
So those are my favorites, mainly because, again, the targeted pulse electromagnetic field, easy enough to do at home, red light therapy, easy enough to do at home. And of course, I love doing acupuncture and I love herbal medicine, so I can't just give you one, but I got my top 3 for you at least.

If You're Nostalgic for Nokia, See the Devices That Defined ’90s Cellphone Design in a New Online Archive – Smithsonian Magazine
Sections
The iconic brand’s mobile phones were pop culture mainstays. Soon, a new online archive will bring together thousands of documents, early models and design concepts
Sonja Anderson
Daily Correspondent
The Finnish electronics company Nokia produced some of the most popular cellphones of the 1990s and 2000s. It became the world’s best-selling phone brand in 1998, and its rounded plastic devices became ubiquitous in Europe. While the chunky phones would evolve from cutting-edge tools to meme-ified relics in the years that followed, their design remains iconic.
“Everyone remembers their first Nokia,” Mark Mason, a member of Nokia’s design team in the ’90s, tells the Observer’s Alice Fisher. “When you say the name, it evokes a memory.”
Soon, nostalgics will be able to peruse Nokia’s visual history online. The company donated thousands of Nokia documents, videos, process models and design concepts to Finland’s Aalto University, which will be launching the Nokia Design Archive on January 15.
Inside the archive, viewers will be able to examine countless Nokia models, such as the Nokia 3310, released in 2000 and now known as the “brick” for its durability, and 2003’s Nokia 7600, or the “mango,” accompanied by designer Tej Chauhan’s sketches. Phones from the brand’s colorful 5100 series—one of which is in the collections of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History—are pictured as a late-’90s plastic rainbow, resembling modern children’s toys.
The archive also includes designs for phones that were never made, like a digital rendering of a strange green and black egg-shaped device. As Artnet’s Vittoria Benzine writes, “It’s enough to make you yearn for an era where everything looked a little less… boring.”
“Nokia was one of the first phone companies to really emphasize design and difference, with everything from very affordable phones right up to the latest cutting-edge handsets,” Jonathan Bell, tech editor at Wallpaper* magazine, tells the Observer. “In the world before Apple, Google and even Samsung, they stood above all the other players.”
Nokia may be known as a brand of the aughts, but the company’s history actually stretches back to the late 1800s, when engineer Fredrik Idestam founded several pulp mills in Finland. One of them was on the banks of the Nokianvirta river, and it inspired the name for Idestam’s new paper company. Nokia began generating electricity in 1902, and it merged with a rubber company and a cable works company in 1967.
Nokia released bulkier car and mobile phones before launching a handheld cellphone, the Mobira Cityman, in 1987. After the Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev was spotted using one, the roughly 1.75-pound phone was nicknamed “Gorba.” In the following decade, Nokia released model after model, including the Nokia 8110 (also known as the “banana” phone) which was featured in The Matrix in 1999.
By the late 2000s, Nokia was struggling to stay afloat in the new smartphone market (Apple launched the iPhone in 2007). Microsoft bought most of Nokia’s mobile phone business in 2013 before selling it in 2016.
That was when former Nokia designer Anna Valtonen, a scholar of strategic design at Aalto University, acquired Nokia’s 20,000-piece database. As university spokesperson Sarah Hudson tells Artnet, a Microsoft Mobile employee who Valtonen had been in contact with called to say, “You know those archives you were interested in? I’m about to put the boxes out in the street by the dumpster.”
“This was how a treasure trove of real-life objects, including the original ‘brick’ and ‘banana’ phones and never-before-seen handmade prototypes, alongside digitally curated sketches, eye-opening market profiling, interviews, videos and presentations made its way into the hands of researchers,” Hudson says.
It took a few years to catalog the 959 gigabytes of material for the Nokia Design Archive, and many uncatalogued files remain, as Aalto researcher Michel Nader Sayun tells Artnet. Since the university acquired the material, several former Nokia designers have contributed their personal collections.
Valtonen, the archive’s lead researcher, tells Designboom’s Kat Barandy that the Nokia Design Archive is as much about the people who made Nokia products as the products themselves. She says the material exemplifies the importance of designing an organizational culture “where it’s okay to try things out and enjoy the process.”
Mason worked for Nokia for 20 years, and he says those decades were “a fantastic time for creativity,” per the Observer. He adds that the company’s designers focused on everyday people and created products that remain iconic.
“I hope people dig their old handset out [of] the drawer—they would probably still work,” Mason says. “Cut me and I’ll bleed pure blue Nokia blood.”

TitkTok asks justices to intervene in divestiture law fight – Roll Call
Social media giant TikTok asked the Supreme Court on Monday to intervene in the challenge to a law mandating the company divest its American subsidiary or face a ban in the U.S., calling the law unconstitutional.
The application from the social media company and several of its users asked the justices to freeze a decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit earlier this month that would force the sale or ban of the company by Jan. 19. The company, majority owned by China-based Bytedance Ltd., argued that the freeze would give the justices enough time to weigh — and eventually overturn — the law.
TikTok’s application argued that Congress’s justifications to uphold the divestiture did not pass constitutional muster. The company said that divesting its American subsidiary was not possible and Congress had effectively banned it from the U.S.
“Congress’s unprecedented attempt to single out Applicants and bar them from operating one of the most significant speech platforms in this Nation presents grave constitutional problems that this Court likely will not allow to stand,” the petition said.
The majority opinion from the appellate court found that the free speech guarantees of the First Amendment are meant to protect speech in the U.S. and Congress acted “solely to protect that freedom from a foreign adversary nation and to limit that adversary’s ability to gather data on people in the United States.”
Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan wrote a separate opinion concurring with the judgment and arguing that Congress has the authority to step in and address a potential national security threat.
“Congress judged it necessary to assume that risk given the grave national-security threats it perceived,” Srinivasan wrote. “And because the record reflects that Congress’s decision was considered, consistent with longstanding regulatory practice, and devoid of an institutional aim to suppress particular messages or ideas, we are not in a position to set it aside.”
TikTok argued in Monday’s application that “Congress has enacted a massive and unprecedented speech restriction” because of concerns about national security. Those concerns should not justify the restrictions, the application said.
“The Government admits that in the years it has had concerns about TikTok, it has found no evidence that any foreign adversary has manipulated the content Americans see or misappropriated their private data,” the application said.
The company argued that the proper way for Congress to deal with concerns about foreign influence or propaganda is to have labels or other disclosures.
“Congress has no legitimate interest in interfering with the U.S. ownership of an expressive platform to alter its content — whether or not Congress deems some such content foreign propaganda,” the application said.
The law, passed by Congress earlier this year, mandates that TikTok’s American subsidiary be divested from China-based ownership or be blocked in the U.S. The Biden administration, and supporters in Congress, have argued the company represents a massive threat to Americans’ privacy and potential social manipulation.
In court the Biden administration argued that the Chinese government could gain access to troves of data that users provide the platform, or order the company to manipulate content in its algorithm.
Attorneys for TikTok argued the law amounted to government punishment of speech that it disliked — pointing to statements made by members of Congress criticizing the amount of pro-Palestinian speech on the platform.
The company has maintained that the Chinese government does not have access to user data and that the Biden administration walked away from an agreement that could have kept user data in the U.S.

The Hulu January 2025 premiere schedule has been announced and can be viewed below. The streaming service has also revealed the titles that will leave next month.
The Hulu Originals for the month include The Best Heart Attack of My Life, Goosebumps: The Vanishing, Paradise, Roy Wood Jr.: Lonely Flowers, and Whiskey on the Rocks. Subscribers can also look forward to newly added movies and various ABC and FOX premieres throughout the month.
A look at the originals, exclusives and premieres that are part of the Hulu January 2025 lineup.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition: Series Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 3)
A new iteration of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” returns to ABC with Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, co-founders of the global lifestyle brand The Home Edit, set to host. Alongside designers Wendell Holland and Arianne Bellizaire, Shearer and Teplin will harness their world-renowned organizational expertise to thoughtfully design and specifically tailor each home from the inside out.
Like the original series, this reimagining will showcase heartwarming stories, inspired volunteers and mind-blowing builds for deserving families who give back to their communities. Assisting them is a team of builders and contractors from homebuilder Taylor Morrison who will expertly reconfigure the home based on the family’s lifestyle and needs.
Going Dutch: Series Premiere (FOX – Streaming January 3)
In “Going Dutch,” the arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Denis Leary) — after an epically unfiltered rant — is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world, notable for its Michelin Star-commissary, top-notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundry and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Surrounded by a diverse group of military misfits, the colonel tries to reinstate discipline and professionalism with the help of the base’s previous interim leader, who just happens to be his estranged daughter (Taylor Misiak, “Dave”).
Dead Pixels: Complete Series (BBC – Streaming January 7)
Created by Jon Brown (“Succession,” “Veep”), “Dead Pixels” follows Meg, Nicky and Usman who are obsessed with the online fantasy game “Kingdom Scrolls.” Meg would happily cut a date short to go home and defend Castle Blackfinger. Nicky thinks the miscasting of Vince Vaughn as Tarnadarl in the “Kingdom Scrolls” movie is an international outrage.
And Usman has made a plywood lid for his child’s playpen, so he can play the game in peace. Oh, and Nicky definitely isn’t into Meg. That would be a cliché. “Dead Pixels” is split equally between the characters’ tragicomic real lives and their computer-animated misadventures in “Kingdom Scrolls.”
Doc: Series Premiere (FOX – Streaming January 8)
“Doc” stars Molly Parker as the hard-charging, brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her memory. The accident leaves her with no recollection of the patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push almost everyone away.
But with the immense loss, comes a second chance to do things differently. “Doc” is inspired by a true story and based on the hit eponymous Italian drama series.
The Rookie Season 7 Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 8)
John Nolan, once the oldest rookie in the LAPD, has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior. Now recovering from a gunshot wound and feeling the effects of his age, John and the team welcome two new rookies and continue the hunt for two dangerous escaped prisoners who have very personal vendettas
Will Trent Season 3 Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 8)
When two off-duty cops are wounded, the GBI must track down Special Agent Will Trent, who recently fled town, to help solve the case. As the investigation unfolds, Will is drawn into his past to clear a friend’s name amid rivalries and corruption.
Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 3 Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 9)
Executive-produced by Michael Davies and hosted by Ken Jennings, the game show features celebrity contestants competing for a chance to win money for a charity of their choice
Goosebumps: The Vanishing: Season Premiere (Disney – Streaming January 10)
“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” begins when twins Cece and Devin Brewer are sent to spend a summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their divorced dad. A threat is stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery.
As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin and their friends — Alex, CJ and Frankie — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.
Roy Wood Jr.: Lonely Flowers: Special Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming January 17)
In this stand-up special, Roy Wood Jr explores how lack of connection has sent society spiraling into a culture full of guns, protests, rude employees, self-checkout lanes and sex parties, and why some of us would rather be alone than be connected.
Whiskey on the Rocks: Complete Season 1 (Hulu Original – Streaming January 22)
In the early hours of October 28, 1981, a Soviet nuclear Whiskey class submarine was spotted aground inside a restricted Swedish military area. The world teetered on the brink of disaster.
With global superpowers on edge, the eyes of the world turned to Sweden’s calm and collected prime minister, Thorbjörn Fälldin, a former sheep farmer, who faced the immense challenge of keeping peace between Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
Paradise: Series Premiere (Hulu Original – Streaming January 28)
“Paradise” is set in an upscale community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high-stakes investigation unfolds.
The Bachelor Season 29 Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 28)
After an emotional exit, Grant Ellis’ journey to find love will continue as he takes on the role of leading man for the upcoming 29th season of “The Bachelor.” The adventurous day trader, who captured the hearts of Bachelor Nation with his genuine desire to build a future centered around family on Jenn’s season of “The Bachelorette,” will be handing out roses when his season premieres.
Scamanda: Series Premiere (ABC – Streaming January 31)
“Scamanda,” the new docuseries based on the No. 1 podcast of the same name, unravels the story of California native Amanda Riley, a young wife, mother and devout Christian whose life suddenly takes a terrible turn when she is diagnosed with Stage 3 blood cancer. Amanda begins documenting her battle online, captivating thousands, but she has a secret that she is dying to keep.
Her story changes from inspiration to suspicion when someone sends an anonymous tip to investigative producer Nancy Moscatiello, who then embarks on a five-year-long investigation into Amanda. Soon, Amanda’s own words may prove to be her downfall.
The Best Heart Attack of My Life: Complete Season 1 (Hulu Original – Streaming January TBA)
Based on the eponymous book by Argentine author Hernán Casciari and inspired by real-life events, the new comedy-drama follows a frustrated writer who survives a heart attack thanks to the help of the host of the temporary rental house in which he was staying, and due to that event, his life and that of those around him changed forever.
The series stars Alan Sabbagh, Olivia Molina, Rogelio Gracia, and Romina Peluffo, featuring special appearances by Imanol Arias, Rita Cortese, and Eleonora Wexler.

Amid this rally, five bullish altcoins are capturing attention, poised to potentially mirror the impressive ascent. The stage is set for exciting movements in the crypto market that could redefine investment strategies.
In the ever-evolving world of meme coins, new contenders constantly emerge, and Catzilla is positioning itself as an ambitious player. Drawing inspiration from successful tokens like Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and PEPE, Catzilla aims to blend viral meme culture with significant financial growth. What sets Catzilla apart is its unique storytelling—a giant, Godzilla-like cat wreaking havoc, which taps into the chaotic energy of Japanese kaiju culture. This game-based narrative not only engages gamers but attracts crypto investors looking for the next big thing.
With a fiery combination of anime-inspired chaos and a rebellious mission, Catzilla is rallying crypto enthusiasts and cat lovers, and anime fans to join its movement for a more equitable, decentralized crypto space.
Unlike many meme coins that burn bright and fade away, Catzilla is here for the long haul, offering investors real potential with a massive 700% ROI. Players can enjoy a thrilling game experience while earning rewards, all while being part of a growing movement that merges the fun of meme culture with the potential for financial freedom.
Catzilla positions itself as a symbol of resistance against the greed and manipulation often seen in the crypto world. By embracing its bold and monstrous persona, Catzilla seeks to restore the playful, decentralized nature of meme coins while ensuring a fair and transparent ecosystem for its users.

Uniswap’s price has surged over 100% in the past month, signaling strong upward momentum. Despite a slight pullback of around 8% this week, UNI remains above key support levels. The Relative Strength Index is 46.28, suggesting there’s room for growth. With the nearest resistance at $23.88, breaking through could propel the price toward the next target of $30.92. This represents a potential gain of over 40% from current levels. As the crypto market gears up for a new altcoin season, Uniswap’s decentralized exchange platform positions it favorably to capture market interest and possibly lead the next rally.
Solana (SOL) has been trading between $219.27 and $251.07. The coin recently saw a monthly price increase of 4.66% and a substantial six-month rise of 53.02%. With an RSI near the neutral mark, Solana is neither overbought nor oversold. The slight negative MACD suggests potential upward movement. If SOL breaks the nearest resistance at $264, it could target the next level at $296, representing a possible gain of around 20%. The simple moving averages show consolidation, with the 10-day at $220.35 and the 100-day at $224.51. The anticipated altcoin season might propel Solana’s price even higher.
Raydium’s price ranges between $4.64 and $5.33, showing steady movement. The nearest resistance level is at $5.68; breaking this could lead to a rise toward $6.38. The nearest support is at $4.30, providing a safety net. The 10-day and 100-day simple moving averages are close, at $5.29 and $5.38, suggesting consolidation. The RSI stands at 46.62, indicating neutral momentum. In the past six months, RAY’s price has increased by 234.18%, reflecting significant growth. If the altcoin season gains momentum, RAY might continue its upward trend. However, market indicators show mixed signals, so monitoring the price action is essential.
Over the past week, Cronos (CRO) dipped by over 13%, but monthly gains are close to 17%, and the past six months show an impressive 86% growth. The price is currently between $0.1725 and $0.2311. Technical indicators like RSI at 43.58 and Stochastic at 17.62 suggest the coin is oversold. The nearest resistance is at $0.2616. If CRO breaks this level, it could move towards the next resistance at $0.3202, offering potential gains of over 40%. With altcoin season approaching and a global crypto bull run expected, CRO has strong potential to rise significantly.
Although UNI, SOL, RAY, and CRO have less short-term potential, Catzilla stands out as the ultimate meme coin hero aiming for financial freedom for everyone. With a remarkable 700% ROI potential during its presale—from $0.0002 to $0.0016 over 14 stages—it offers governance, rewards, and staking, uniting crypto enthusiasts to dismantle toxic systems and fight crypto villains.

The interaction between humans and artificial intelligence demands a new field of study, Northeastern researchers say – Northeastern University

To be an internet user in 2024 is like being a hamster running on a wheel. The modern web is largely composed of consumer services that use artificial intelligence-based algorithms to hook people to stay logged on — for better and for worse.
“You as a user make choices,” says Tina Eliassi-Rad, a computer sciences professor at Northeastern University and a core faculty member of the Northeastern Network Science Institute and the Institute for Experiential AI.
“You watch certain things. You buy certain things. You’re producing training data for these AI algorithms, specifically recommendation systems — think Amazon, think Netflix, think Match.com”
“These AI algorithms produce suggestions to you, those suggestions supposedly influence your choices,” she adds. “Through that, you’re producing more training data for the algorithm, and round and round we go.”
In essence, the web is made up of a series of human and AI feedback loops correlated with user behavior, Eliassi-Rad explains.
Eliassi-Rad is one of several Northeastern researchers who have proposed a new area of study they are calling “Human AI Coevolution” to better understand and analyze these feedback loops. Other researchers on the project include Northeastern professors Ricardo Baeza-Yates, Albert-László Barabási and Alessandro Vespignani.
For this research project, the team analyzed AI algorithms used in a variety of services, including online retailers, social media sites, navigation services and AI-based text and image generation clients.
Human-AI interactions are not isolated exchanges, Barabási says.
“They form an intricate network of feedback loops,” he says. “Each click, each choice, each recommendation doesn’t just affect the individual — it ripples across the network, influencing the behavior of others and shaping the evolution of both human society and AI systems.
“Understanding this dynamic at the interface of network science and AI research is crucial if we are to harness these systems for societal benefit rather than allowing them to amplify unintended consequences.”
Baeza-Yates is quick to note that this is not designed to be a discussion around “biological evolution,” but rather “about how human behavior and human society is impacted by technology.”
“In this work, we emphasize the urgent need to investigate how humans and AI algorithms continuously influence each other, creating a potentially endless feedback loop that leads to complex and often unintended systemic outcomes,” adds Vespignani.
“This calls for the establishment of a new field of study at the intersection of AI and complexity science, dedicated to understanding, characterizing, and potentially anticipating the large-scale societal impacts of AI deployment,” he notes.
Vespigani explains that the Human AI coevolution framework “puts at the center the continuous and dynamic interaction between humans and AI systems, where each influences the other’s evolution.”
He highlights that these feedback loops have “far-reaching social implications.”
“These include shaping public opinion, influencing consumer behavior, and even redefining social norms,” he says.
“By providing a structured approach to analyzing these complexities, the framework allows us to systematically identify potential risks, such as polarization or bias, and develop strategies to design AI systems that promote fairness, inclusivity and societal well-being.”

SportsMillions No Deposit Bonus | FREE 3 SC & 1,000 GC | December 2024 – Insider Gaming

SportsMillions is a top-tier social casino with plenty to offer, and it features many ways to unlock free coins and games.
That’s one of the driving reasons why this platform is so popular, despite only launching in 2024.
Whether you’re a gambling veteran or a novice player, you’ll unlock 1,000 free GC and 3 free SC when you sign up at SportsMillions.
That sizeable no-deposit bonus is then compounded with offers of further discounts, free coin boosts, and daily rewards.
To learn how to unlock and use the SportsMillions no-deposit bonus, read on – I’ve got you covered.
Yes, the SportsMillions no-deposit bonus is reserved exclusively for first-time users of the site.
However, that’s the tip of the iceberg of promotions this site offers.
If you’re hungry for more bonuses, it’s worth taking a second to probe through the site’s live promotions and don’t forget about that daily login reward.
Yes – users taking advantage of the SportsMillions social casino can win real cash prizes or gift cards through the site’s sweepstakes mechanic.
This is common enough in the social casino business, and as it’s governed by sweepstakes law, it’s all above board and legitimate.
The requirements are fairly simple, and as long as you play through your SC at least once before trying to redeem them (at a value of 1 SC for $1 USD), you’re set.
The site also has relatively low minimums compared to other platforms, which is a huge win. You need just 10 SC to redeem against a gift card, and 75 SC for a cash prize.
SportsMillions has a few services that it offers to users across North America, and they’re split into propositions, each one being marketed to different states.
No SportsMillions services are offered in:
Additionally, the site doesn’t allow users to access social or sweepstakes services in:
It’s admittedly one of the more restricted social casinos.
If you’re eager to play anyway, you can check out one of the many other sweepstakes casinos that have been reviewed.
The SportsMillions no deposit bonus doesn’t include free spins, but the GC and SC that you invest in the games can easily be thought of as free spins.
For instance, playing Joker’s Jewels Wild Slot on SportsMillions has a minimum spin of 0.2 SC, and with the 3 SC bonus you get when you sign up, you’ll theoretically have unlocked 15 free spins.
What’s more, you could win more SC while playing, so the free spins can effectively continue past that limit.
SportsMillions doesn’t use a bonus code system – you simply get the no-deposit bonus for registering a new account on the platform.
That’s not to say that there aren’t any bonus codes on SportsMillions.
Some promotions will require or feature such a mechanic, but the welcome bonus is much more accessible than that.
To play on SportsMillions, you must be from one of the unrestricted states and you must be over the age of 21.
These are the core requirements to play on the site – and to secure the no-deposit bonus.
At all times, you need to adhere to the site’s terms and conditions, otherwise, you could forfeit any SC and GC you’ve accrued thus far.
For instance, don’t try accessing the site through a VPN from a restricted state.
Aside from that, there’s almost no strategy to consider to secure your no-deposit bonus with SportsMillions.
On most sweepstakes sites, Gold Coins are a digital currency used to fund spins, games, and other things like tournament entries. This is how things work on SportsMillions.
Gold Coins can be purchased in packages, and you can then use those coins in the various games and offers on the platform.
With each purchase of GC, you’ll unlock free Sweeps Coins.
Sweeps Coins are a no-purchase token that can be won by playing games or by taking part in special promotions.
These are the tokens that you can eventually convert into cash prizes, gift cards, and other redemptions on SportsMillions.
SportsMillions has managed to accrue a 3.7-star rating on TrustPilot, and despite being a much newer platform than most competing sites, it’s already turning heads.
It uses a unique operating model that players – especially sports fans – simply love.
For instance, on SportsMillions, you can play Blitz’em, a sports-focused game that sees you stake SC against sports predictions, and if you’re successful, you’ll win massive stacks of Sweeps Coins.
The site looks modern and is easy to use, which is another huge win for fans – particularly the less confident gamers.
Many of the site’s reviews mention a fast withdrawal system and great customer support functions, both of which are vital to the ongoing success of a social casino.
When I picked up my free GC and SC from SportsMillions, I headed straight into the games that were unlocked and waiting for me.
First, I played through Joker’s Jewels Wild Slot, which has a 0.2 SC minimum spin requirement.
I wasn’t kept occupied for long, but it was enough to get to grips with the site.
To be honest, SportsMillions doesn’t give a large enough welcome bonus to make a strategy worthwhile.
The games boast a high RTP, but it’s highly unlikely you’ll earn much from your no-deposit bonus.
It’s more there to act as an introduction chapter to the site.
SportsMillions regularly runs a solid rotation of promotions and boosts, many of which feature free GC and SC rewards.
At any time, you can get boosts on purchases, free daily rewards, and spinwheel games, all of which reward you with free tokens.
The site also runs an advantageous VIP scheme that regularly rewards members with free coins – which can (hopefully) eventually be turned into free money.
No, the SportsMillions no-deposit bonus is reserved exclusively for new members – but existing members have plenty of other promotions to take advantage of.
Yes, SportsMillions facilitates real-money prizes that can be picked up by redeeming at least 75 SC.
No, SportsMillions is not available in Montana, along with nine other states.
