Manoj Bajpayee is in the news these days about his film Dispatch. Meanwhile, the actor has shared some interesting stories about his personal life. He told- I had an interfaith marriage with Shabana Raza. There was no family pressure on me regarding marriage.
‘I and Shabana respect each other’s religion’
While talking about his marriage, Manoj Bajpayee said- My father was a very broad minded person. That’s why he was never against my relationship. I also tell my daughter that she should take her own decision regarding her religion. Both Shabana and I respect each other’s religion a lot. Since we both have different religions, there is never any issue in our house. Everyone has their own space regarding religion.
There were more Muslim people in father’s funeral – Manoj
During a conversation with Barkha Dutt, Manoj Bajpayee was asked that how was the experience of marrying a Muslim girl? Responding to which the actor said that I did not face any problem. My father was a gentleman, he was very friendly and many of his friends were Muslims. More Muslims than Hindus came to his funeral. That’s how I was brought up.
My daughter asked what is my religion- Manoj
The actor further said- Now there is a discussion at home about my daughter’s religion and which religion she will follow. My daughter once asked her mother – What is my religion? So I and his mother said that it is your decision as to which religion you want to follow.
I pray daily- Manoj
During this conversation, Manoj told that he worships in the temple every day. Whereas, his wife follows her religion. They do not discuss anything about religion at home.
