BURLINGTON, Iowa — A death investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a Burlington residence on Christmas, police said.
According to a press release, Burlington police and fire officials responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Madison Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 for a possible shooting victim.
Officials said they located an adult male inside the residence who was declared dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the DCI Crime Lab Crime Scene Team.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Greater Burlington Area Crime Stoppers at 319-753-6835 or BPD at 319-671-7001. BPD said more information will be released when it is available.
