A grant for improving security at Abundant Life Christian School is being pulled – WBAY

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – An $8,000 grant to improve security at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison after a deadly school shooting is being revoked.
The One in Five Foundation for Kids, formerly known as the Uvalde Foundation for Kids, reached out to the school to offer the grant for metal detector installations, as well as other increased security measures.

Foundation officials are now saying the funding is being pulled due to school officials failing to respond.

Foundation officials say they’re working to interview community members about their school safety concerns.
The foundation’s founder released a statement:

“While a community rightfully mourns, we sought to learn what measures the school intends to implement to ensure student safety. That request was ignored. We offered to aid in providing additional security measures. That was ignored. Simply, baffling.”

Abundant Life Christian School officials have not commented on the situation.

As we’ve reported, a 15-year-old girl shot and killed two people and injured six others during a study hall at the school earlier this month.
Investigators are still working to determine a motive in the case.
