OXFORD — The sign awaiting Hope Christian football players to burst through Friday spoke to the occasion of Hope Christian Academy’s first-ever varsity football game.
Green, blue, purple, pink and black letters spelled out the realization of a dream three years in the making.
“There are only two seasons, Waiting for football season & football season,” the sign red. “The wait is over.”
The wait for Hope’s first victory also ended Friday. The start-up school attached to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Oxford beat visiting Valliant Cross 28-18 at Oxford’s Big Jack Stovall Complex.
A complete report, with quotes and details, will come shortly. Videos and photos of the occasion are available now for EA+ subscribers.
