Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 E. Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando, will have a Blessing of the Pets from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16.
We will have treats available for your best friends. We welcome the community to come out and have your companion commended. We ask that your pet be up to date on their vaccinations and that they are appropriately leashed or contained.
We would also like to extend the opportunity for businesses that aid in pet care, to also come on out and let our community know what you can offer them and their loved ones. We also encourage our veterans to bring their furry service companions to come and be blessed.
“Catching Up to God: An introduction to the Baha’i Faith” will be open to everyone at Lakes Region Library, Inverness, Saturday, Nov. 15. Greeting is at 2:45 p.m. and the presentation follows at 3 p.m.

December skies will resound with Christian/gospel music at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Andalusian Oaks. The third annual interfaith Christmas concert, whose theme is “Come, Let Us Adore Him,” will celebrate and praise Jesus Christ with music that focuses on His light and mission.
Members of the choir, from different religious congregations in the Williston and Dunnellon area, are coming together to use their talents to promote unity, nurture commonalities, and touch hearts through the universal language of music.

Come and join the St. Scholastica Knights of Columbus for their monthly breakfast event, held every third Sunday of the month from 8:30 to 10:30 am.
The breakfast includes a variety of offerings such as link sausage, scrambled eggs, hashed brown potatoes, French toast, pancakes, a fresh fruit bowl, orange juice and both regular and decaffeinated coffee, all for $8 per person. Children 12 and younger eat free and those 14 to 18 are half price.
The breakfast takes place at the St. Scholastica church hall, located behind the church at 4301 W. Homosassa Trail in Lecanto. This event is open to the public, so everyone is welcome to attend.
Proceeds from these breakfasts go toward supporting local initiatives. Your presence helps make a positive impact on both the St. Scholastica community and the broader community in need.

The holidays can be quite difficult when dealing with the loss of a loved one. North Oak Griefshare ministry wants to help you survive the holidays.
Griefshare provides video-discussion at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, “Surviving the Holidays.”

Nar-Anon Family Group of Citrus County, a support program for people who have been affected by the drug use of a family member or friend, meets from 7-8 p.m. every Thursday at North Citrus Christian Church, 6442 Elkcam Blvd., Citrus Springs.
The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of addiction in a relative or friend. As a Twelve-Step program similar to Al-Anon, Nar-Anon offers help by its members sharing their experiences, strength, and hope.

This is a faith-based study sponsored by North Citrus Christian Church which provides help for those experiencing “little deaths” in life as well as the loss of a loved one.

The Memory Lane support group and respite program for individuals dealing with dementia has relocated to Grace Methodist Church in Homosassa. It meets every Monday from 1-3 p.m. at the church, 5030 S. Memorial Drive.

The St. Thomas the Apostle Bereavement Support Group meets every Thursday from 1-2:30 p.m. U.S. 19, 300 yards south of Cardinal and just past Walmart.
The group takes a positive approach to grief by helping grievers learn how to make a new life, even when they don’t want to. Just come, sit and listen. 30 years of experience has taught them how to help make a positive difference in a person’s life. Anyone can attend.

The journey of grief is a painful process that you don’t have to walk alone. Grief is an emotional wound, which, similar to a physical wound, must be treated for proper healing. Being in a group of understanding and supportive people who are experiencing grief can make grieving easier. The group is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. GriefShare features videos of nationally recognized experts on grief topics and the stories of people who have healed from grief.
