WASHINGTON (TNND) — Rapper and artist Nicki Minaj praised the Trump administration for speaking out against the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
Last week, President Donald Trump announced on TRUTH Social that he was labeling Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” due to the persecution of Christians.
The Nigerian government has denied claims that Christians are being persecuted in the country.
“The Federal Government strongly condemns and categorically refutes recent allegations by certain international platforms and online influencers suggesting that terrorists operating in Nigeria are engaged in a systematic genocide against Christians,” Minister Mohammed Idris said earlier this year.
Minaj said that it was great to live in a country where God could be freely worshiped in a lengthy X post.
“No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion,” she said. “We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”
Minaj also made headlines last week when she shared a video of Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump participating in a TikTok trend with one of her songs.
Kai Trump has a large social media presence and has 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube.
