There’s no shortage of happenings to get you in the holiday spirit this weekend.
‘Best Christmas Pageant Ever’
Thursday-Sunday is “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” onstage at Greenwood Community Theatre, 110 Main St. Adapted from the best-selling young adult book by the same name, this is a hilarious Christmas classic. For tickets, call the GCT box office at: 864-229-5704. Box office hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m., 110 Main St.
Also, 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday are the three free days of live nativity performances, a concert series, wagon rides and a Christmas village/petting zoo that are part of the annual Christmas at Connie Maxwell, 215 Terrell Smith Ave. in Greenwood. Visit: conniemaxwell.com/merrychristmas.

Also, in Greenwood this Sunday evening is the Christmas edition of Hymns and Hops at Good Times Brewing, 233 Maxwell Ave. 6-8 p.m. Sing Christmas songs, traditional hymns and fellowship during this family-friendly and free event. A limited kitchen menu will be available and plans are in the works for musical acts to also share songs during intermission. Hymns and Hops is an informal and community-focused worship experience.
Dec. 6, 9 a.m., is the annual Santa Stroll for Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. The 5k walk/run or 1-mile fun walk, through Greenwood neighborhoods. Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont invites you to take in breathtakingly beautiful, decorated trees and wreaths, all up for bid for a good cause, Saturday and Sunday at First Baptist Church of Greenwood, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy two days of live entertainment and a holiday bake sale. Proceeds support patients and families served by this nonprofit organization. The theme for this year’s festival is “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Admission is $5 for adults. $1 for children 12 and younger. Call 864-227-9393 for information.
Thursday-Sunday from 6-8 p.m., take a stroll during the first weekend of Walk Through Bethlehem at Cold Spring Mennonite Church. This incredible interactive experience teaches about Jesus’ birth, life and purpose on Earth. This event features live animals, creative displays, authentic costumes and a retelling of the Christmas story. After the walk, guests can enjoy holiday refreshments. Thursday, Baillie Players presents Disney’s “Frozen KIDS” at Abbeville Opera House. There are two performances: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is $15.
Friday and Saturday, Victorian Christmas and Handmade for the Holidays: two days of special holiday pop-up shops at Abbeville retailers for the Victorian event, including Breezy Quarters, Pink on Pickens, Country Cowboy. Plus, a Christmas market at the Livery Stable, a Paws and Petticoats Humane Society benefit, cocoa with Santa and much, much more. If you’re looking for handcrafted gifts, Handmade for the Holidays has you covered during the two days.
Friday and Saturday are opportunities for photos with Santa in Abbeville.
The kickoff for Candlelight Nights, 303 Church Street (across from Refuel,) 5-8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays before Dec. 25. More than 1,000 luminaries, plus window displays. Live acoustic music and food trucks.
If that’s not enough to keep you busy, Holiday on Main is also underway in McCormick, now through Dec. 13.
