A pastor denouncing the killing of Christians in Nigeria and pleading for protection for believers has received death threats.
“My life is in grave danger,” Ezekiel Dachomo told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News on Oct. 24.

Dachomo — a pastor and regional chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations in Barkin Ladi in Nigeria’s Plateau state — informed reporters in Jos that Islamic extremists seek his assassination. Allegedly, Islamic extremists stated Nov. 7 that Dachomo would be killed within seven days, the news outlet said.
Dachomo also pointed to a statement against him from Nigeria’s military.
An Oct. 15 video shows Dachomo at a mass grave of 12 church members slain when suspected Muslim Fulani herdsmen attacked the villages of Rachas and Rawuru. In the video, Dachomo is critical of the Nigerian government for denying the genocide of Christians.
The 2025 World Watch List from the group Open Doors states that 3,100 Christians were killed in Nigeria during the most recent reporting period. That figure represents 69% of all persecution deaths of Christians worldwide.
Nigeria is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian.
