Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the most followed streamer on Twitch, took a moment to share a devotional with his millions of viewers that, in his words, “messed me up the most.”
Reading directly from No More Excuses: A 90-Day Devotional for Men by pastor Tony Evans, Ninja quoted Matthew 6:24: “No one can serve two masters… You cannot serve both God and money.”
“That’s so hard,” he admitted on stream.
He acknowledged how easily priorities can get out of whack—even when the thing in question is your literal job.
“The first thing that came to me was video games,” Blevins said. “But, I’ve really reshaped my priorities and rearranged them greatly.”
These days, the streamer says he’s waking up differently.
“The first thing I do when I wake up is I stretch, I read the Bible and I pray,” he said. “And that’s really hard. That was like a really hard thing to do. The first thing in the morning that I would do for the last 20 years of my life would be, like, checking my phone. And the first thing I do now is pray.”
This isn’t the first time Blevins has opened up about his personal faith journey. Over the last several months, Ninja has started sharing more on streams about his beliefs—from going to church to trying to understand who Jesus is.
“I’m not perfect,” he said. “You’re gonna see me crash out still… but I’m trying to be better.”
