Phantom Wallet Potential Airdrop Rumour Gains Online Attention – NFT Plazas

Rumours of a potential airdrop involving popular Solana-based cryptocurrency wallet Phantom Wallet have been circulating on social media, causing a wave of speculation within the crypto community.
Posts from influential users suggest that participating in certain activities within the wallet, such as following others with their customized usernames, might result in token rewards. However, no official confirmation or announcement has been made by Phantom Wallet.
These unverified claims have led to heightened activity among users, many of whom are rushing to claim usernames and engage in follow-back campaigns.
A Phantom username is a unique, user-friendly identity for your Phantom Wallet, designed to simplify interactions within the wallet ecosystem.
Unlike the long, complex wallet addresses traditionally used in cryptocurrency transactions, Phantom usernames allow users to create custom, memorable identities that are easier to use and share.
With a Phantom username, users can benefit from features such as an integrated address book, which allows them to add friends as contacts by name instead of complex wallet addresses. This feature streamlines the process of sending and receiving cryptocurrency. Additionally, any accounts linked to a username are synced across all devices, ensuring a seamless experience for users.
Claiming a username is entirely optional, and users who prefer to use standard wallet addresses can continue to do so.
The speculation stems from social media posts by notable members of the cryptocurrency and NFT communities. Josh Ong, cofounder of Bored Room Ventures, addressed the rumors in a post saying, “Not sure about the airdrop rumors, but if you follow in the app and drop your @ in the comments here, I’ll go through and follow back in batches.”
Other posts from the community also added to the speculation, suggesting that users could earn tokens through mutual-following activities. These posts claimed rewards of up to 1,000 tokens for following others and 500 tokens for gaining followers.
Whilst the posts have garnered significant attention, no evidence has been provided to substantiate the claims. Phantom Wallet has yet to issue a statement, leaving the validity of these rumours unclear.

Verona’s first luxury storage condo facility is anticipated to open in Liberty Business Park by early 2025.
Founded by Keith Schulz and Ben Menaker, 3rd Space Garages is a storage condo facility located at 644 Liberty Dr. Between 31 private units and a clubhouse, this new development offers a space for all hobbyists to join together.
The Press emailed co-founder Keith Schulz a questionnaire to learn more about 3rd Space Garages and its role in the community.
Q: What inspired the idea of luxury storage condos, and how does it cater to hobbyists and collectors specifically?
A: “The inspiration for this project really came from Keith’s own desire to revive his hobby of tinkering with classic cars and motorcycles, as well as meet his need for storage for his jet ski and camper. Keith searched for a functional and affordable garage/shop space for years, and even considered moving, but he struggled to find a home that would allow him to build an outbuilding while keeping his kids in the Verona Area School District.
In addition to his storage needs, Keith also had the desire to share and enjoy his hobbies with others who have similar interests, and hence the incorporation of the clubhouse space to create the communal environment. Keith’s business partner, Ben, also wanted to own a space for storing his boat and real estate maintenance assets so that he could stop paying for rental space. Both Keith and Ben have seen similar developments in other areas that all were fully occupied shortly after being developed and decided if they both have a need, others do too.”
Q: What amenities and features are offered that differ from traditional storage facilities?
A: “Each unit will have its own furnace for heating with the ability to easily add cooling, a 125-amp 120/208V single-phase electrical panel, fire protection, domestic water supply, and bathroom rough-ins with all utilities individually metered. Additionally, each unit has 18 foot or higher ceilings and concrete slab on grade to accommodate vehicle lifts and mezzanines. The buildings are designed such that an owner can customize each space for their own needs, or even combine multiple units for a larger space. The development includes a beautiful clubhouse featuring a full kitchen, conference space, lounge, bathrooms, recreation area, and outdoor patio area that each owner will have access to.”
Q: What types of hobbies or activities have you envisioned these spaces being used for?
A: “This space will be suitable for any type of storage or hobby that you might use your own residential garage for. We envision anything from your car collection, personal storage, workout space, or perhaps even a personal art studio.”
Q: Can you give examples of any prospective customers and their plans for the space?
A: “One of the unit owners already under contract has a collection of classic cars and plans to stack cars on lifts 2-3 cars high, while also leaving enough room to work on their vehicles. Another individual under contract plans to utilize the space to restore a vintage wooden boat. The facility was also designed to accommodate RVs.”
Q: How do you see this facility evolving into a social space over time?
A: “Our vision is that the clubhouse and development as a whole will evolve into a space where people want to hang out with their friends and neighbors who have similar hobbies. We expect the condo association will end up with several smaller niche groups as well. You might have the group of motorsports gearheads hanging out chatting about their vehicles while watching the game in the clubhouse, while at the same time there might be a separate group of people admiring each other’s woodworking projects in a private unit.”
Q: What kind of security and maintenance measures are in place for valuable items that are stored?
A: “The facility includes exterior lighting and is secured with a locked entry gate as well as security cameras covering all of the communal spaces. All exterior main doors are deadbolt protected, with remote monitoring and tracking of common space doors being utilized by specific individuals based upon unique keypad codes that will be issued to unit owners. The buildings are pre-engineered metal buildings constructed with metal roofs and siding so there will be essentially no maintenance required.”
Q: What is the overall vision or goal for the development? How do you think it will impact the local community?
A: “The overall vision for this development is to give people a unique space, in close proximity to their homes, to store their toys and enjoy their hobbies while sharing that enjoyment with others. We are confident this development will allow for social connection and networking of community members that have similar interests, whether those interests be motorsport hobbies or something completely different. It will provide a ‘club-like’ feel and a place for like-minded individuals to hang out and collaborate. We plan to host multiple events in the future, examples being communal cookouts, watching sporting events, and car shows that can help spur interest in younger generations.”

Concerns about homeless shelter space as temperatures drop – NBC Connecticut

With temperatures dropping, organizations that operate homeless shelters are making a plea for more support.
They said Connecticut’s homelessness problem continues to grow, but funding for shelter space has not kept up. Organizations say lawmakers need to take even more action when they craft the next budget.
>Free 24/7 Connecticut news stream: Watch NBC CT wherever you are
“We are hearing of deaths across the state, of people who are dying outside,” Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness CEO Sarah Fox said.
Fox said her coalition is working to get an estimate on the shelter shortage, as demand can fluctuate based on weather.
She said homelessness is up 14% over the last year, though, while funding for cold weather shelters is down 10%.
Marilyn Rossetti, Hartford city council member and CEO for Open Heart Association, agrees shelters don’t have enough beds to meet the need when temperatures drop.
“We’re always looking at a problem as far as bed availability,” Rossetti said. “There’s also the issue of people who don’t want to go into shelter, but there’s never enough beds.”

Wilfredo Ramos, who currently lives in a Hartford shelter, said the homeless problem is getting worse as people struggle to get into a shelter.
“You see young people in the lines and sleeping under bridges,” he said “That’s hard.”
CCEH also points out the state used American Rescue Plan Act funding to support homeless programs, but that money is going away.
They’re pushing for $33.5 million in the next budget to both address that need and provide support.
That includes $7.8 million for programs meant to keep people in their homes, $19.5 million for shelters and services and another $6.2 million to get people into permanent housing.
“Now people are staying [in shelters] for a year,” Fox said. “We have babies who are literally spending their first year in a shelter.”
Lawmakers said they want to provide more funding for shelters but will need to balance other demands when crafting the next budget.
“Are there dollars there – yes,” Rep. Jason Rojas (D-Majority Leader) said. “Will it come at the expense of something else – possibly. But we’re literally talking about life here, life and death here.”
Lawmakers return to the Capitol on Wednesday. Sen. Stephen Harding (R-Minority Leader) agrees that helping the homeless should be a priority.
He criticized the decision, though, to use one-time ARPA to support the ongoing need of shelter space.
“There can be investment that’s prioritized toward that, I think we just have to be smart in the investment that we make,” Harding said.
Advocates said there are also changes the state can make that don’t require additional money in the budget.
CCEH wants to see local and state officials move away from arresting or ticketing people who are homeless. The organization also wants the state to provide incentives for landlords who offer up units to help the homeless.
Rossetti, meanwhile, suggested a shift back toward more rooming houses – homes that offer people an individual room for sleep, but communal space for showers and other needs.
Rossetti said those can be a low-cost option to move people out of a homeless shelter while they search for a more permanent home.
“Someone started at a lower rent, you know, a smaller, maybe a shared bathroom,” she said. “And then they work and then they save and then they move to the next step.”
