Most Anticipated Animated Shows/Movies In 2025 – Anime Superhero News

2025 is here, and looks to be an amazing year in animation (both for adults and kids)! Here are my picks for the animated series and movies I am looking forward to the most!
Craig of the Creek. Craig of the Creek has been among the Cartoon Network’s most successful shows in the last few years. Focusing on the adventures of Craig, Kelsey and J.P. as they explore the titular creek and interact with all of its other inhabitants, each with their own unique quirks.
Since it’s debut in 2018 it has also delivered a feature length prequel movie, and a spin-off series. Unfortunately the number of episodes for Craig of the Creek‘s final season was reduced, due to various business decisions. Now, the final few episodes of the show are slated to premiere in on January 4, 2025 on the Cartoon Network.
looney tunes movieThe Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. Daffy Duck and Porky Pig star in this new feature length Looney Tunes animated movie, with Eric Bauza providing the voices for both of the main characters. The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on February 28th, 2025 (after a pretty long process of finding a distributor for the title).
Looney Tunes are pretty much a timeless franchise that gets a new project every once in a while, and most of the “modern” attempts at revivals like this one have managed to capture at least part of the charm the original animated shorts had. Here’s hoping this new movie will be a success.
Elio. A new Disney and Pixar movie about a kid who accidentally becomes the intergalactic Ambassador of planet Earth. Yonas Kibreab voices the title character, with Jameela Jamil, Brad Garrett, and Zoe Saldana also in the cast. The movie was delayed for more than a year, for whatever reasons, but is now on track to release on on June 13, 2025. The premise sounds like fun and the trailer released so far makes this seem like it will be another entertaining animated adventure from Disney.
The Bad Guys 2.The first Bad Guys animated movie was a pretty fun surprise, as well as a rather successful project taking into account it is now getting a sequel. The Bad Guys 2 is scheduled to release on August 1, 2025 and will feature the returning main voice cast of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, and Awkwafina. New additions to the cast include Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, and Maria Bakalova as a trio of female crooks who force the former Bad Guys to take part in another heist.
Phineas and Ferb. The show about two stepbrothers who spend their summer vacation building some pretty incredible stuff and going on various adventures, is coming back with new episodes next year. The show initially ran between 2007-2015 on the Disney Channel and Disney XD, and covered quite a few stories featuring the title characters, their large supporting cast and developed some pretty nice and amusing continuity as well as running gags, along the way. The new episodes are likely to continue this trend, especially considering most of the crew (including series creator Dan Povenmire) and most of the voice cast will return, and I for one am curious to see how this revival will play out.
But that’s my picks. What animated series or films are YOU looking forward to the most in 2025?!?
