Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s launch date gets a small but welcome bump-up as the RPG looks to dodge some huge, triple-A big-hitters.

With heavy, gratifying, in-your-face combat and a story filled with wit, Kingdom Come Deliverance is a great historical RPG, but its sequel looks to go bigger and better in every aspect. If it weren’t for a delay, we’d probably be playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 right now, but today I come bearing good news – it’s now going to arrive earlier than its previously-announced launch date.
While Warhorse had aimed for the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 release date to arrive before the end of 2024, it confirmed earlier this year that it would be pushing the game back to February 11, 2025. However, it seems Warhorse has been at a full gallop in recent months to get the medieval game finished as it has just announced that not only has Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 gone gold, but it’s also bringing forward its release date by one week.
While this might sound like an easy way to deliver some good news to players, this also seems like a tactical (and wise) move from Warhorse. Its previous release date would have seen it launch on the same day as one of the biggest upcoming PC games, Civilization 7. Just a few days later on February 14, the Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date is also set to arrive.
Not only is that particular week pretty busy with new triple-A titles, but the rest of the month is already stacked too. Obsidian’s RPG Avowed is set to launch on February 18, the new Yakuza game is slated for February 21, and to top it all off, the most wishlisted game on Steam right now, Monster Hunter Wilds, arrives on February 28. Launching earlier in the month definitely gives Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 a bit more breathing room before all of these juggernauts arrive.
Speaking of wishlists, Warhorse has also revealed that it’s now surpassed a million of them from expectant fans – and that’s excluding any wishlists on console platforms.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will now launch on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, seven days earlier than previously announced. If you want to learn more about it, pre-order it, or add to that impressive Steam wishlist tally, head to its store page here.
There’s even more exciting KCD2 news arriving soon, with a brand new story trailer and PC and console specs dropping tomorrow after the PC Gaming Show Most Wanted showcase.
While you wait for this medieval adventure to arrive, make sure you fill the time with some of the best RPGs and best fantasy games around.
