LOS ANGELES — To bring in the New Year, the Michigan Wolverines head west for a tough Big Ten Conference test, as they prepare to face the UCLA Bruins on Wednesday.
Michigan is wrapping up its swing through California against the Bruins. They started their first conference trip to the Golden State on Sunday, falling to the USC Trojans, giving the Wolverines two defeats in their last three games. This current stretch for the maize and blue is not an easy one. Along with facing No. 10 Ohio State next week, Michigan will have faced a top-10 team four times in a five-game stretch.
This will be the second time UM is facing the top team in the nation. They opened up the 2024-25 season against the defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks in November, only losing by six.
The Bruins have shown very little weakness this season, which is an easy remark to make since they are undefeated. However, if you look at how they have played, you would agree. UCLA has won each of its 13 games by double digits, including a 15-point victory over the Gamecocks in late November.
This will be the first time the Wolverines and Bruins are meeting in Big Ten action. UCLA leads the all-time series, 4-0, including a win early in their last matchup back in the 2016-17 season.
