After a two-day break, the Utah Jazz are looking to etch another win on the season Thursday as they continue their road trip to take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
Similarly to the Jazz, the Blazers have gotten off to a rocky start for their 2024-25 campaign. They've collected a 9-20 record to place 13th in the Western Conference, right above the 7-21 Jazz.
The Jazz and Trail Blazers played once earlier in the month of December, where that contest went well within Utah's favor. The Jazz exploded for a 141-99 victory on the road, and will attempt to replicate that stellar showing for their second meeting of the season.
Utah will have some injury questions heading into tip off, with John Collins and Keyonte George's status being up in the air. As for the Blazers, big man Robert Williams III looks to have the same questionable status.

Two bettors won the P1.2 million 6D Lotto jackpot prize while there were no winners of the major lotto jackpot draws by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Thursday.
The winners correctly guessed the 7-3-9-0-4-7 combination for 6D Lotto which yielded P1,207,628.
No bettor guessed the correct combination of 46-33-45-23-31-01 for Superlotto 6/49 whose jackpot prize is P15,840,000.
The Lotto 6/42 jackpot prize of P16,891,422.80 was left unclaimed after no one picked the right numbers of 05-12-23-19-34-25.

A new “land” is coming to Kentucky Kingdom next year and it’ll have multiple new rides.
Kentucky Kingdom announced on Wednesday that a new space within the park will debut in 2025 with three new rides. It will “re-theme” 10 rides.
The park has released few details on the new space, but says it will have a “Kentucky twist.”
There will also be a new playground and two reimagined dining options for visitors.
Officials with the park say the new area cost $11 million and is part of Kentucky Kingdom’s effort to create better experience for families.
This is the first part of a $25 million investment at Kentucky Kingdom over the next two seasons.
Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom is open for the winter season until Jan. 4.

In Let’s Shutdown the Government: An Instructional Game, Dr. Buehlmann argues that government shutdowns are the crisis in a negotiation strategy, commonly called brinkmanship. This game presents shutdowns as a tool to foster acquiescence and relies on the assumption that elected officials benefit when their actions align with public preferences. The Shutdown Game facilitates the students’ understanding of the national budget process and government shutdowns. The author has found the game to be an effective instructional tool in her undergraduate political science and public administration courses and hopes that it may prove valuable to others.

As the market responds to Trump’s nomination of Stephen Miran as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, analysts predict that XRP could be eyeing a rally to its yearly high of $2.91. 
Although Ripple XRP trades at $2.28, down 7.40% in 7 days, its four-hour chart suggests a full recovery back to its 2024 highs at $2.91. Moreover, there are rumors that some of the world’s top commercial banks are poised to activate crypto trading and settlement services in collaboration with Bitstamp, leveraging Ripple’s (XRP) settlement technology. 
If it materializes, such institutional adoption signals increased confidence in Ripple (XRP). However, some Ripple investors are seeking better alternatives, tuning attention to altcoins like 1FUEL as the best presale of 2024
