HBO’s Hacks, which won best comedy series at the Emmys this year, is a lot of fun. But beyond the grandiose homes, excellent soundtrack, and the glitz of Las Vegas, the relationship between an iconic comedian in her 70s and her Gen Z writing collaborator is a compelling portrayal of multi-generational professional relationships.
