The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has claimed the killing of four Christians in an attack in Borno State, north-eastern Nigeria, on November 11.
The armed assault took place near the town of Dille.
Terrorists with machine guns “attacked a number of Christians” according to an ISWAP social media post, “which led to the death of four of them, thanks be to God.”

ISWAP also attacked the Christian community of Dogoba in neighboring Adamawa State, capturing three people as well as burning down 16 houses and two church buildings.
More than 45,000 believers have been killed by Islamists in northern and Middle Belt Nigeria since 2009, a death toll that has led to accusations that genocide is being committed by groups such as ISWAP, Boko Haram, and other Islamist militia.

“Can I consider what has been happening as genocide against Christians?”, asked John Joseph Hayab, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria. “My straightforward answer is – yes.”
“We have buried too many for anyone to pretend otherwise,” he added.
“We cannot keep denying reality and expect peace. The first step toward healing this nation is to tell ourselves the truth and ensure justice for all victims.”
