The World Council of Churches (WCC) has released a preview of what will be a full-length documentary tracing 100 years of Faith and Order as a pilgrimage and a quest for unity.

With the voices of theologians from across the world, the documentary will be both a history and an inspiration to the dynamic Faith and Order movement today. 

They could not agree on everything – indeed, sometimes they could hardly agree on anything – but they walked together nonetheless,” said Prof. Dr Henco van der Westhuizen, research consultant for the WCC Commission on Faith and Order. Following 100 years of ecumenical theology in motion, this documentary will revisit the milestones of Faith and Order as a continuing pilgrimage where history, doctrine, and hope converge in the quest for the unity of Christ’s church.”

The film will depict a century-long pilgrimage of theological reflection and ecclesial encounter, tracing the Faith and Order movement’s enduring search for visible unity from Lausanne (1927) to the Sixth World Conference in 2025.
