Nigerian food delivery startup Chowdeck has hired Henry Whyte, formerly senior operations manager at Bolt Ghana, to lead its expansion into Ghana.
The move marks a significant step in Chowdeck’s international growth, as it prepares to compete directly with Bolt Food in Accra.
It also highlights a pattern of poaching talent from rivals to drive expansion.
In July 2024, Chowdeck hired Umar Nas’ir, another senior Bolt exec, to head its Nigerian operations. Nas’ir previously led Bolt Nigeria across 20+ cities.
Together, Whyte and Nas’ir bring 13+ years of operational experience from Bolt—a strategic boost as Chowdeck builds out its asset-light logistics network alongside food delivery.
